Around Florence: the Chianti region
The Chianti region with its rolling hills is the production area of the omonymous wine. This is the heart of picturesque, postcard Tuscany with hills crossed by lines of cypresses, sunflowers and vineyards: a scenery which will captivate you with its beauty and charm.
The Chianti region, to many is simply the area where the wine is produced, but there is a lot more to it: with its charm this area has always inspired the imagination of artist, poets and also many film directors. Not last Kenneth Branagh who choose Villa di Vignamaggio as the setting for his production of “Much Ado About Nothing” by W. Shakespeare (which is, in fact, set in Sicily in the work of the great Elizabethan playwright). with a star-studded cast including Denzel Washington, Keanu Reeves, Emma Thompson, Brian Blessed, Kate Beckingsale, Richard Briar, Michael Keaton and Kenneth Branagh himself.
